will be open to welcome all Saturday, April 13, 2024.

Hours are 12:00 noon to 5:00. 

That's five hours for friendly faces, tasty treats and, of course,

plenty of art work to enjoy.

We have a new studio mate, Beth Rinna Brown and a new

studio name: Studio 3. We are also celebrating our tenth

anniversary here  at 23810 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn 48124,

on the 2nd floor of the Manno Clothing Building.

We are between Tim Horton's and Leon's Family Dining restaurants

(between Outer Drive and Telegraph Rd )

There's plenty of free parking behind the building

and we have an elevator for those who have trouble with stairs.

These events are always lively and fun - and will be even better

if YOU are there!

Friday, September 13 is the date of our group show, "Inspired By 2.0". For two years, 13 artists have been preparing works inspired by well known art works of the past. Eighty seven works have been selected and are on exhibit in the Padzieski Gallery, located in the Dearborn Community Arts building. The doors open at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00. Come and join us for a colorful evening viewing our art and enjoying various tasty treats!

   A friend just reminded me that today is Earth Day. How fitting, then, that just yesterday “Toward the Sleeping Bear” was purchased by another friend, who has steadfastly dedicated her life to environmental stewardship and clean water conservation.

   This watercolor was painted on location in 2015 and portrays the mouth of the Platte River flowing into Lake Michigan. Having arrived at my chosen vantage point and set up my easel, I stopped, overcome with awe. The dazzling light and incredible clear colors of the two bodies of water were nearly unbearable and I painted with a trembling hand. I felt appreciation for the many citizens whose efforts toward reclaiming and preserving our fresh water resources had made such a scene possible. To them, this artist who loves to paint water will be always grateful.

We had so much fun last year, we decided to do it again. Come and join us!

"Chicken Dance Trio" is included in the 2016 Bugs, Blooms & Beasts show now open at the Scarab Club through June 25. I'm honored that my painting was one of those selected for inclusion in this eclectic and interesting show. The Scarab Club, built in 1928, is located at 217 Farnsworth. It is across the street from the Detroit Institute of Arts is on the National Register of Historic Places.
